NAME OF INSTITUION:              McCandless State Veterans Nursing Home, Florence, Colorado.

PROJECT SUMMARY

Several artists will be chosen from the submittals to develop the final concept for the artwork. There are several opportunities for both two and three dimensional art at the entryway to the facility. The welcoming entryway includes a concrete plaza, three flags, grass, pine trees and plantings creating an opportunity to connect with the environment. The public art could be a free standing piece, or enhance the entry lattice support or imbedded in the walkway.  The artwork needs to have a presence, help with wayfinding and be durable and enduring. The art should recognize the dedication of the heroes of our country and evoke the spirit of caring.
